Abstract

In ceramic metal halide lamps ingredients e.g. dysprosium are used as so called gas-phase emitters to reduce the electrode temperature. Investigations are performed on the behavior of the dysprosium density versus the electrode power loss in dependence on the operation frequency. Since the emitter effect is depending on the polarity of the electrodes, all measurements were performed phase resolved.
